A Frontier flight from San Diego to Las Vegas made a hard landing at Harry Reid International Airport after the pilots detected smoke in the cockpit. The airport was the flight’s intended destination, and there were reports of smoke before the emergency landing. Flames were visible underneath the aircraft, and the Clark County Fire Department responded immediately. The plane landed safely, and all passengers and crew members were evacuated without injuries. The incident caused a ground stop at the airport until 7 p.m., and video posted on social media showed the flames and smoke coming from the plane. The cause of the incident is under investigation by the FAA. Rebecca Cohen, Jay Blackman, Joe Kottke, and Anisha Banerjee contributed to the report.
