The 32nd Annual Red Sox Celebrity Classic series, held in February and March, raised over $400,000 to benefit a pediatric surgery center at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. The series included events such as the Boston Tee Party, the 32nd Annual Celebrity Golf Classic, and Dinner on the Diamond, which featured appearances from Red Sox celebrities and raised funds through auctions and donations.
The event series has raised a total of $15.8 million since 1993, with this year’s proceeds supporting the development of the new surgery center. The center aims to provide exceptional care for children and families by reducing wait times, increasing efficiencies, and improving access to emergency services. Sponsors of the series included The Forest Country Club, Boston Red Sox, and other organizations.
Support for the pediatric surgery center is still ongoing, and donations can be made through the Lee Health Foundation website. Golisano Children’s Hospital, part of Lee Health, is the only designated children’s hospital in Southwest Florida, serving patients from six surrounding counties. The hospital offers a wide range of specialty pediatric services and is recognized for its safety and quality care.
