John Tomlinson, a 73-year-old hypnotherapist, has been sentenced to at least 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting incapacitated patients. Tomlinson was convicted of five sex charges and one count of unlawful imprisonment after multiple female patients accused him of assault during therapy sessions at his office in Grand Blanc Township. The first victim came forward in 2017, leading to more charges as additional victims spoke out. Prosecutor David Leyton emphasized the severity of Tomlinson’s actions and noted that he will not be eligible for parole until he is 88 years old. Despite showing little remorse during his sentencing hearing, Tomlinson was given a lengthy prison term by Judge Elizabeth Kelly. Tomlinson will now await transfer to the Michigan Department of Corrections to serve out his sentence.
