Republican State Representative Mike Mueller of Linden has been appointed as chair of the Michigan State Police subcommittee by House Speaker Matt Hall. Mueller, a retired Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputy, brings years of law enforcement experience and a strong understanding of public safety needs to the Legislature’s budgeting process. In his new role, Mueller will work to prioritize public safety in the state budget and ensure that the needs of law enforcement officers and the communities they serve are met.
Mueller’s appointment also includes serving as vice chair of the subcommittee responsible for the budgets of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Additionally, he will be a member of budget subcommittees focused on human services, higher education, and community colleges.
In response to his appointment, Mueller stated, “I know the challenges our law enforcement officers face every day to keep our families safe. I am honored to take on this role and will work to ensure our state budget prioritizes public safety and meets the needs of both our officers and the communities they serve.” With his background in law enforcement and dedication to public safety, Mueller is well-equipped to lead the Michigan State Police subcommittee and make a positive impact on the community.
