Eastern Michigan University’s track and field team recently competed at the Jet’s Pizza Invitational and Meyo Invitational, where their distance runners and multi athletes showcased impressive performances. Kian Wiles and Samuel Jeffery stood out with Wiles running the MAC’s best mile time and Jeffery earning a conference-best score in the heptathlon.
At the Jet’s Pizza Invitational, freshman Shay Clemetson won the pentathlon, while Jeffery finished with a personal best in the heptathlon. Cason Doolittle set a program record in the heptathlon 1000m and Julien Badoo also earned a top 10 heptathlon mark.
During the Meyo Invitational, the women’s 4000m distance medley relay team ran the MAC’s second-fastest time, while Lachlan Cornelius and Carson McCoy performed well in the 600m. Wiles and McCoy also impressed with top finishes in the open mile and 800m, respectively.
Marta Moreno, Chloie Musta, and Cora Henderson also delivered strong performances at the Meyo Invitational. Overall, the Eagle’s showcased their talent and determination at both events, setting new personal bests and program records.
