Birch Run Police are investigating allegations of inappropriate communication between a former school employee and students at Birch Run High School. The investigation was initiated after a tip was received through the OK2Say Michigan Student Safety Program, which allows students to confidentially report potential harm or criminal activities. The former employee, who also worked as a coach at the school, has since resigned. Superintendent Diane Martindale stated that the district took action to place the employee on leave and informed the police of the allegations. The former employee previously worked for Allied Universal Security, which provides security at Birch Run Premium Outlets, but the security company did not provide any comments on the matter. The investigation is ongoing, and while criminal charges are not imminent, authorities are continuing to look into the situation. Birch Run Police have not provided any further details on the case at this time.
