Snoopy fans were outraged when a popular account dedicated to the beloved character endorsed former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election. The account, Snoopy Weekly, had a large following on social media before it was deleted. Some fans expressed their disappointment, while others urged them to follow a different account, dailysnoopys, which has a more left-leaning stance. Other Snoopy fan pages have also shown political leanings in their posts. The creator of the “Peanuts” comic, Charles M. Schulz, was not afraid to delve into politics, encouraging Americans to make the right choice. He promoted diversity and inclusivity through his characters and believed in the power of democracy. Peanuts Worldwide LLC, which controls Snoopy’s intellectual property, did not comment on the controversy. The official fan page for the comic, Peanuts.com, is currently promoting voter registration through their “Peanuts Rocks the Vote” campaign. Despite the controversy, Snoopy continues to be a beloved character for fans of all ages.
