The Harris campaign has announced that Vice President Kamala Harris is willing to participate in a second debate with former President Donald Trump, which would be hosted by CNN on Oct. 23. The campaign chair expressed the belief that the American people deserve another opportunity to see the two candidates debate before casting their ballots. This decision comes after Harris expressed her desire for another debate in Georgia. However, Trump has stated that there will be no third debate, citing that it is unnecessary and that voting has already started. Despite this, the Harris campaign is pushing for the debate to take place, highlighting that Trump had previously praised the format and setup of CNN debates. The potential debate would be less than two weeks before Election Day and would occur while early voting is ongoing in multiple states. The first debate between Harris and Trump took place on Sept. 10, hosted by ABC, making an Oct. 23 debate the second opportunity for the two major-party nominees to engage in a debate.
