Israel launches major raid on occupied West Bank resulting in at least 9 deaths | Latest update on Israel-Palestine conflict

Israel launched its biggest ground and air attack on the northern part of the occupied West Bank, killing at least nine people and injuring several others. The operation involved hundreds of soldiers and the air force and was described as the largest since 2002. Palestinian health officials reported casualties in the Far’a refugee camp in Tubas, Jenin, and the nearby village of Seir.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said they faced difficulties reaching the injured due to Israeli forces preventing ambulances from entering the area. The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed the death toll and Palestinian armed groups claimed they were fighting against Israeli forces in the Nur Shams and Jenin refugee camps.

Political analyst Omar Baddar suggested that the attack was part of Israel’s long-term strategy to annex and ethnically cleanse parts of the West Bank. He mentioned that over 650 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers and settlers in the West Bank in recent months.

The al-Quds Brigades and the Qassam Brigades, Palestinian armed groups, claimed responsibility for targeting Israeli forces with explosive devices in the refugee camps. The escalating violence in the West Bank comes amidst global attention on Israel’s actions in Gaza.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinians, with escalating violence on multiple fronts, raises concerns about the humanitarian crisis and underscores the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the long-standing conflict.
