The Michigan Wolverines football program is facing allegations of a sign-stealing scandal, as confirmed by a Notice of Allegations received from the NCAA. The allegations involve seven Michigan staffers, including first-year coach Sherrone Moore, from the 2023 team. Former staffer Connor Stalions was accused of buying tickets to games against potential opponents in order to gain an advantage through sign stealing. Moore could face a suspension and show-cause penalty for allegedly deleting text messages related to the scandal. The NCAA had previously resolved a separate investigation into the football program involving recruiting violations. Former head coach Jim Harbaugh and other staff members are also accused of violations. Stalions resigned and Harbaugh was suspended by the Big Ten in the aftermath of the initial investigation. Harbaugh has since become the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers. Michigan will have 90 days to respond to the Notice of Allegations and the NCAA will then have 60 days to respond before determining if a hearing in front of the Committee on Infractions is necessary. Yahoo Sports was the first to report the news of Michigan receiving the NOA.
