Five Student-Athletes from Track & Field Team Set to Compete in World Athletics U20 Championships


Five Eastern Michigan University track & field student-athletes are gearing up to compete at the 2024 World Athletics Championships in Lima, Peru from August 27-31. The athletes, representing Greece, Nigeria, USA, and Canada, will participate in events such as the 100m hurdles, high jump, and hammer throw.

Nikol Antoniadi from Greece will compete in the 100m hurdles after clocking a personal best time earlier this year. Fiaku Ezechukwuchiri from Nigeria will participate in the high jump. Jake McEachern and Ryan Johnson will represent USA and Canada in the hammer throw event, showcasing their talents on the world stage.

Paige Marchant, a rising star for Team Canada, will run in the 1500m event. Marchant had an impressive season, winning multiple events and earning accolades at the MAC Indoor Championships earlier this year.
