Israeli settlers killed one Palestinian man and injured six others in an attack on the West Bank village of Wadi Rahal, while an Israeli air strike on the Nur Shams refugee camp resulted in the deaths of five Palestinians, including two teenagers. The strike targeted leaders of armed resistance groups in the camp, with one of the leaders surviving several assassination attempts. The Palestinian victims were identified as Adnan Jaber, Mohammed Ahmad Elayyan, Mohannad Qarawi, Jibril Ghassan Jibril, and Mohammed Ali Yusif.
Following the air raid, Palestinian parties declared a general strike in protest against the killings, with Hamas condemning the attack and calling for intensified struggle against Israel’s occupation. The violence in the West Bank has been escalating due to attacks by Israeli settlers, with a total of 1,334 attacks reported since the beginning of the year, resulting in at least seven Palestinian deaths.
Palestinians are expressing concern over the impunity that Israeli settlers seem to have in carrying out attacks, leading to continued violence and destruction. The situation in the West Bank remains tense as Palestinians mourn the loss of lives and call for justice and an end to the cycle of violence in the region.
