Arthur Nathaniel Booth, who gained attention in 2015 for breaking down in tears in front of a judge who recognized him as a former middle school classmate, has been arrested for a series of crimes that occurred in August. The Miami Police Department announced Wednesday that Booth, 58, is accused of posing as a water inspector and a plumber to gain entry into homes and steal jewelry and chains from unsuspecting victims. One victim, an 85-year-old man, had his gold chain snatched by Booth after he tricked the man into bending down to open a faucet. Booth has been charged with robbery, burglary, home invasion and robbery without a firearm or weapon in connection to these incidents. The police believe that Booth may be involved in other similar crimes as well. Booth’s history with the criminal justice system includes a previous burglary charge nearly a decade ago, during which he was comforted by Judge Mindy Glazer, who remembered him from their middle school days and encouraged him to turn his life around. Booth was emotional during the court appearance, and Glazer expressed hope that he would choose a lawful path moving forward. Booth’s attorney information is not available at this time.
