Judge Sean Lane is reconsidering his decision to dismiss Rudy Giuliani’s bankruptcy case due to his failure to pay some creditors’ expenses. Giuliani, the former lawyer for Donald Trump, has not provided key financial information despite multiple directives to do so. Dismissing the case would allow two former election workers in Georgia to collect on their $146 million verdict against Giuliani for defamation. Giuliani has proposed offering a lien on his New York apartment to pay the expenses once it is sold, but the judge questions his financial transparency. Lane may order a hearing to assess Giuliani’s finances or appoint a trustee to oversee his assets. Interested parties, including the creditors and Giuliani himself, have until Wednesday to provide their input on the best path forward. Giuliani filed for bankruptcy in December after being ordered to pay nearly $150 million to the Georgia election workers for his false claims of election fraud. Giuliani’s representative did not respond to requests for comment on this latest development.
