Central Michigan Volleyball recently announced their non-conference schedule for the upcoming season, with trips planned to Normal, Illinois, Albany, New York, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The team will also host the Chippewa Invitational in McGuirk Arena.
The Chippewas will face new opponents such as Lindenwood, Bellarmine, Fairleigh Dickinson, Iona, and Canisius. These matchups will provide opportunities for the team to experience a variety of playing styles and systems in preparation for conference play.
Coach Gawlik expressed excitement for the upcoming schedule, noting that the challenging and balanced matchups will test the team in ways that will help them grow. He emphasized the importance of playing at home and the advantage of having a supportive crowd and fan base.
The preseason slate includes matchups against teams that finished in the top 50 for statistical categories in NCAA Division I Volleyball. This competitive schedule aims to prepare the team for conference play and build momentum throughout the season.
Central Michigan will kick off conference play on the road against Miami (OH) on September 26th. With a strong lineup of opponents and a focused coaching staff, the Chippewas are gearing up for an exciting and competitive season ahead.
